Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. Baku International Multiculturalism Center has held a round table on “I am proud that I am an Azerbaijani!” on the occasion of the International day of Tolerance.
APA reports that Azerbaijan’s state adviser on multinational, multicultural and religious affairs Kamal Abdulla noted that the International Day of Tolerance, which is marked around the world, is marked in Azerbaijan too.
K. Abdulla noted that a multicultural environment has been created in Azerbaijan which may be model to other countries: “A number of security principles have been carried out in the country. Main of them is multicultural security. Today, it’s possible in Azerbaijan to develop multicultural regime and deliver to the world relying upon the population. There is no religious and national issue that cannot be solved in Azerbaijan”.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Adalat Valiyev said that all condition have been created for development of cultures of all peoples in the country.
MP and Azerbaijani Head of the Council of Elders Fattah Heydarov also noted that establishment of Baku International Multiculturalism Center is important: “Today, different processes in the world are underway. Economic crisis, fight in different aspects, wars and conflicts made people to think. At such a time, Azerbaijan is recognized as a country visible from all over the world, passing correct decisions, achieving results. I think that newly-established Center will be a peace for mankind and people, institute for coexistence”.
Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Mubariz Gurbanli noted that with its activity, policy, Azerbaijan has demonstrated itself as a model of tolerance. According to him, if Azerbaijani people would not be tolerant, different religions, ethnicities could live here together.
Deputy Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Haji Fuad Nurullayev said that equal condition have been created for all religions to pray in the country. According to him, this issue was also reflected in Islamic religion: “There is not concept of compulsion in the heavenly religious. Our religion is against to forcibly make others adopt its rites. The ideas in this issue are free”.
