Shamakhi Observatory: Geomagnetic intensity and magnetic storm were recorded on the Earth

The geomagnetic intensity and magnetic storm were recorded on the Earth yesterday and tonight, chief of the Sun and solar-terrestrial relationship Department of Shamakhi-based Tusi Astrophysical Observatory of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Namig Jalilov told APA.

The department chief said that the magnetic storm was also felt in Azerbaijan and has affected the people with cardiovascular diseases.

According to Jalilov, the magnetic storm occurred, because the small flashes around the Sun reached to the Earth. Noting that the power of geomagnetic storm is measured by J1-J9, he said that yesterday, the power of magnetic storm was measured by J1: “From the technical point of view, the law-power magnetic storm has no impact. It was unfavorable for only people with cardiovascular diseases.”

Jalilov noted that the total magnetic field protects the Earth from pressures. This magnetic storm shook the magnetic field yesterday.

The department chief stressed that the power of magnetic storm has already reduced today: “It doesn’t pose a threat to the coming days.”
