Serious shortcomings revealed at Azerbaijan Teachers Institute Ganja branch, director dismissed

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi - APA. Education Ministry has recently received numerous reports about illegal diplomas issued by Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute.


The Ministry’s press service told APA that education certificates of the teachers working at schools in Kalbajar region were checked. It was found out that the education certificates of some of them were illegal diplomas issued by Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute.


Taking into account seriousness of the facts, under order #899 issued by the Education Ministry of Azerbaijan on November 29, 2013, activity of Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute was checked. The investigation found out that normative-legal acts regulating the activity of higher schools were flagrantly violated by the branch, serious shortcomings were revealed in teaching, financial discipline and education documents, education certificates registered to the name of the persons, who had not studied at the institute, were revealed. Under the relevant order of the Education Minister, director of Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute Ramiz Mammadov was dismissed.


The materials regarding the shortcomings revealed in the activity of Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute have been submitted to Prosecutor General’s Office.
