Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The Ministry of Health clarified the issue of applying compulsory medical insurance in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Anar Gadirli told journalists that the Ministry developed the conception of compulsory medical insurance in 2008 and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Gadirli also said a relevant agency was established under the Cabinet of Ministers and noted that the ministry has nothing to do with the activity of the new agency: “Simply, to my mind, the application of compulsory medical insurance is delayed, because the financial mechanisms, mechanism of relations between the agencies and mechanism of clinic selection are currently being developed. There are a number of issues in the conception developed by the Health Ministry. These mechanisms will be specified soon. The application of compulsory medical insurance is an important issue to change health financial system. At present, the health system is financed under the previous rule. The application of compulsory medical insurance will completely change this system.”
