Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. Activation in Azerbaijan’s landslide zones has increased, chief of the department of landscape sciences and landscape planning of the Institute of Geography of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Elbrus Alizadeh told APA.
He said that the activation especially intensified in Zigh massif, the area of Masazir and on 16-17 km of Lankaran-Lerik highway. Alizadeh noted that the activation has also started on Mughanli-Ismayilli motor road in Mughanli village of Shamakhi and other zones: “In this case, the probability of activation increase is very high. If rains continue for a few days, the activation will intensify.”
The department chief has revealed the names of the most dangerous landslide zones. He said that the most dangerous zones are Baku landslide sites, Mughanli village of Shamakhi region, Mughanli-Ismayilli highway, Aghsu pass, Lankaran-Lerik highway, a part (up to the River Valvala) of Baku-Russia highway passing through Siyazan and Shabran region.
