The Lerik veterinary department has started mass vaccination of large and small cattle as there is a high risk of FMD spread in the district, APA’s southern bureau reported.

Speaking to APA, the head of the Lerik veterinary department Gulmirza Taghiyev noted that no FMD case has been reported in the district so far.

According to the department head, as FMD is a viral infection, it spreads quickly.

He added that about 40,000 large cattle and over 130,000 small cattle will undergo vaccination.
