A total of AZN 281 million has been allocated for 2027 to finance benefits paid through compulsory state social insurance for temporary incapacity for work, pregnancy and childbirth, the birth of a child, childcare for children under the age of three, as well as funeral benefits, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy Musa Guliyev said during discussions on the social budget package at today's committee meeting, APA reports.
The committee chairman stated that this is 38% or AZN 77 million more than the approved forecast for the current year.
He noted that the planned increase of AZN 77 million in this area of the budget will make it possible to raise the amounts of several social benefits next year.
"Thus, the childbirth benefit is projected to increase from AZN 600 to AZN 1,500, the childcare benefit paid to insured persons for children under the age of three from AZN 700 to AZN 936, and the childcare benefit for children under the age of three from AZN 37 to AZN 100.
A total of AZN 25 million has been allocated for expenditures to be financed through the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation for the implementation of sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement measures for insured persons," he said.
