E.Gasimov said the greatest scientists are the most modest scientists: “In many cases, scientists live a hard life. And society greatly benefits from their discoveries afterwards. Science is a life of selflessness. For instance, the annual earnings of footballer Messi account for 120-130 million dollars, or those of Hollywood stars are hundreds of millions of dollars. However, today’s prospering countries are those that pay attention to science and education. Back in the 1950s, Korea faced a big war and destruction and was almost wiped off from the map. But South Korea directed its resources to science, not the army. Today South Korea has brands like Daewoo, Hyundai, Samsung, etc. But the great Islamic world has no such brands. If the Islamic world is underdeveloped today, it comes from the attitude towards science and education. More than 50 percent of the world’s oil and gas resources and about 60 percent of its working-age population live in Islamic countries. However, only 1% of scientific journals worldwide are published in Islamic countries. Azerbaijan’s science has huge potential and it needs to be realized”.

During his speech, MP Asaf Hajiyev too encouraged youths to science.
