Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that amendments have been proposed to article #264 of the Criminal Code in this regard.
According to the amendments, those escaping the scene of accident after violating traffic rules and rules for operation of vehicles and causing less serious or serious harm to health of a victim, death of a victim, will face up to 5-year deprivation of the right to drive and 4-year imprisonment.
Currently, the legislation envisages 3-year deprivation of the right to drive and 2-year imprisonment.
The draft law will be recommended the Parliament’s autumn session.
