The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that annexes and amendments are proposed to article #312 of the Criminal Code.
According to the annexes and amendments, those giving bribes voluntarily or as a result of threatening will be brought to criminal responsibility. According to the new draft law, the following paragraphs will be removed from the current article:
“If a person, who gives a bribe being threatened by an official, voluntarily informs the relevant state agency about the fact he or she will be exempted from criminal liability.
Instead of this, the clauses removed from the added paragraph will be considered as a criminal offense and the degree of punishment will be known after the draft law is discussed in parliament.
