Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloghlu – APA. Domesticated animals - cow, ox, sheep, goat, camel, chicken, goose, duck and turkey, and wild animals - deer, antelope, mountain goat, cow and herbivorous birds, pigeon, sparrow, quail, starling and ostrich - are halal.
It was reflected in the document entitled “General Guidelines on Halal Food” confirmed by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent that entered into force on June 24.
Milk and dairy products, eggs and egg products from these animals are halal.
Haram animals include pigs, dogs and similar species, animals slaughtered not pronouncing the name of Allah, animals slaughtered contrary to the Islamic rules, died animals, animals with front horns or long sharp teeth like bear, elephant, monkey, wolf, lion, tiger, leopard, cats, jackals, foxes, squirrels, shrew, mole, squirrel, the American crocodile and alligator; birds of prey with sharp claws like hawks, falcons, eagles, vultures, crows, crows, hawks, owls; rat, venomous, scorpions, snakes, wild bees, mice and other insects; venomous animals, lizards, snails, insects, larvae and similar disgusting animals, animals like honeybee and hoopoe that’s killing is forbidden in Islam, donkeys and mules, farm animals deliberately and continuously fed with haram feed. Products from haram animals are also haram.
As for water animals, scaly fish, shrimp and scaly fish roe and products are halal. Roe produced from the animals without the need of being cut, is halal in case of safe for consumption. All toxic water animals are haram. They are halal in case of their toxic and hazardous parts’ being removed. All amphibians are haram.
All plants and its products are halal, except the poisonous and harmful ones.
