Azerbaijan implements “Green Week” project for the first time

APA reports that various international events, forums and meetings will be held within the project.

The International Youth Forum organized by IDEA and UNEP has today started in Baku as a part of the project. Delivering a keynote speech, Wondwosen Asnake Kibret, UNEP regional coordinator, said that ongoing development issues, outcomes of the “Rio+20” summit and permanent cooperation between the youth organizations will be discussed at the forum held with the participation of local and international youth organization.

“Green Week”, one of the projects by IDEA Campaign, will be implemented between November 12 and 16 within the cooperation with UNEP (The United Nations Environment Programme). The IDEA Campaign (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) launched by Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva on July 12, 2011, are implementing many local and international projects. Several international organizations are interested in large-scale projects implemented by the IDEA Campaign. As a result of it, the IDEA Campaign will start joint projects by cooperating international organizations.

Alongside with the local guests, representatives of several international organizations, NGOs and youth leaders are expected to attend the event. The International Youth Forum will end with the adoption of declaration that will make contributions to the fulfillment of decisions of the “Rio+20” summit and its submission to the 67th session of UN General Assembly.
