Artificial insemination, surrogate mother and other issues removed from bill “On reproductive health”

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The bill “On family planning and reproductive health”, which discussion has been delayed for a long time, will be included in the agenda of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s autumn session, chairman of the parliament’s social policy committee Hadi Rajabli told APA.

The committee chairman noted that some controversial issues that caused serious discussion in the society, especially those that worried Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh have already been removed from the bill.

According to him, these issues are related with artificial insemination, surrogate mother and etc: “These issues have been removed from the bill and we will discuss it without these issues. But the issues of artificial insemination and surrogate mother may be discussed within 5-10 years as amendments to the draft law. In any case, time will show it.”
