Baku. Shahriyar Alizade – APA. The Supreme Court on Wednesday considered a cassation appeal of Elvin Abdullayev, member of Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP), who is charged with illegal drug trafficking.
The judgment was passed at the hearing presided over by judge Imran Hajigayibov.
The court reclassified the charges on a grave article #234.4.3 (drug trafficking on a large scale) into 234.1 (illegal possession of drugs) and reduced the prison sentence from 6 to 2.5 years.
Abdullayev was charged under the Article #234.4.3 (drug trafficking on a large scale). Baku Court on Grave Crimes sentenced him to 6 years in prison. Court rejected the appeal against judgment.
