Piriyev noted that 350-400 meters of the road has become useless as a result of the landslide on the 10th km of Basqal-Sulut highway, at the entrance of the Sarsura village and on the right bank of the River Sulut, caused by the heavy rainfall during recent days.
According to him, the traffic on the highway connecting Ismayilli’s Sulut, Kalazeyve and Sarsura villages with the district center is blocked.
“At present, there is a high landslide activity in that area. If the area is intervened in, the landslide can increase, which will lead to serious consequences. The highway is hard to be reconstructed. Therefore, relevant bodies dealing with this issue agreed on construction of an alternative road”, the chief geologist added.
