As part of the Great Return Programme, the resettlement of 180 families, a total of 591 people, to Sugovushan has been ensured, the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts told APA.

A secondary school with a capacity of 144 students in the village has also been overhauled and put into use for students. In order to strengthen electricity supply in Sugovushan, the Sugovushan-1 and Sugovushan-2 Small Hydroelectric Power Plants have been reconstructed.

A new mosque has also been built and commissioned in Sugovushan village.

In Talysh village, at the initial stage, 20 individual houses were restored and rebuilt, and the return of 20 families, a total of 90 people, to the village was ensured. A school with a capacity of 78 students, a kindergarten, an administrative building, public facilities and catering establishments in Talysh village have also been restored and reconstructed. The return of residents to their native village under the Great Return Programme is continuing in stages. Modern social, utility and road transport infrastructure has been created in both villages to ensure comfortable and safe living conditions for residents. Internal village roads have been built, streets have been improved, and the necessary conditions have been created for convenient traffic movement.

Medical points have been established in Sugovushan and Talysh villages. Modern infrastructure has been built to provide both villages with uninterrupted electricity, drinking water, natural gas and high-speed internet. Thus, all necessary utilities have been created to ensure comfortable and sustainable daily living conditions for residents.

Important projects have also been implemented in Sugovushan to develop social and public infrastructure and to make effective use of the village’s tourism potential. A new park has been created around the Sugovushan Reservoir. The park has been developed as a modern and convenient recreation area for residents and visitors to the village.

In addition, a school, social and service facilities, energy infrastructure and tourism facilities have been created or restored in Sugovushan.

A school, kindergarten, administrative and other social facilities have also been put into operation in Talysh village. The restoration and reconstruction work carried out in Sugovushan and Talysh villages covers not only the renewal of the housing stock and road infrastructure, but also the social, utility, education, healthcare, energy, communications and tourism sectors.

Note that six years have passed since the liberation of Sugovushan and Talysh villages of Aghdara district from occupation. On October 3, 2020, on the seventh day of the Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani Army liberated the strategically important villages of Sugovushan and Talysh on the northern front.
