-Dr. Vugar, would you please tell our readers about yourself first. What plastic and aesthetic surgery operations do you perform?
- Taking into account my professional education, I have been engaged in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery for 17 years. I mainly perform surgeries in Azerbaijan. But I also do surgeries abroad. Patients can apply for all types of cosmetic surgery.
- Do you have patients from abroad?
- Yes. I have patients from Great Britain, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Canada, USA, Austria and other countries.
- How do they find you?
- They find me mainly by the recommendations of the patients I performed surgery on, but social media and my personal website also play a role. “Vugarclinic.com” website has been in service for years. - In any case, it is not easy to get the satisfaction of foreigners...
- Of course, citizens of a country with developed healthcare system are the people who are used to high quality medical care. But for me personally, it doesn't matter what country the patient is from. We strive to provide the best service for everyone who chooses and trusts us. Patient satisfaction is paramount.
- You are a surgeon who personally develops and follows new medical technologies.
- As you know, surgery is a rapidly changing field of medicine. Not only the equipment and devices, but also the surgery methods are updating day by day. I attend international conferences and trainings to be up to date, I try to master the latest innovations in plastic surgery. Because it is possible to achieve more successful results with the new technique. So far, I have participated in more than 60 international conferences and trainings.
- You are performing many surgeries. Approximately how many surgeries have you performed so far?
- I have performed about 8,000 surgeries in ten years.
- Let's go back to our topic. In what cases facelift surgery is required?
- It is true, nowadays women perform various cosmetic procedures to keep their skin look young. But with the ages, such procedures cannot completely prevent aging, deep wrinkles appear on the face. Also, facial problems appear more on the skin of people who have lost weight. We find sagging skin on the body and face of patients who underwent gastric bypass surgery. In this case, surgery is required. Every woman wants to look young and beautiful. We try to give them the result they desire.
- There are people who have undergone surgery at the age of 30...
- Yes. As I mentioned, skin problems are not only related to age. Young people who lose a lot of weight also develop sagging skin. We can say that the age limit has dropped to 30.
- Does the use of cosmetics affect skin aging?
- Unfortunately... Using too much makeup reduces the elasticity of the facial skin. For this reason, 40-year-old women also apply with facial skin problems.
- Do men also apply for facelift?
- Yes. We also have male patients on whom we perform this surgery. We can even say that their number is increasing day by day.
- What modern facelift methods do you use?
- There are many types of facelift such as “Endoscopic facelift”, “Mini facelift”, “Total facelift”, “Smaslifting”, “Deep plane facelift”. I choose a method according to the patient's deformity. Sometimes, neck lifting can be performed for better results. This is also called “Platysma lifting”.
- How old was the oldest and youngest patient you surgered so far?
- My oldest patient was an 85-year-old man, and my youngest patient was a 26-year-old woman. Currently, the number of my patients from foreign countries has increased. Because not every plastic surgeon performs facelift surgery. The anatomy of the face is the most complicated area. Despite this, the sensitivity doesn’t disappear.
- How many hours does the facelift surgery last?
- It takes about 1.5 hours and the rehabilitation period is 2 weeks.
- For how many years can someone be rejuvenated by the facelift and how long does the effect last?
- It is possible to look younger by 20 years and its durability is lifelong.
- What should be done to reduce bruising and swelling on the face after surgery?
- It is important to follow a special diet one month before surgery. There are also special care instructions to avoid suture marks on the skin and for proper healing. It is important to follow them. I attended special courses and training in USA and Italy to make this surgery more perfect.
- You returned to Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War and performed surgeries on the wounded.
- This was my chore to the Motherland. I could not stay abroad while the war was going on in my country. I performed various surgeries on about 200 wounded people in Agjabedi District Central Hospital. Due to severe injuries, reconstructive surgeries were required in the facial area. I tried to get the best result I could.
- You are more known as a plastic surgeon of famous people and family members of the officials.
