State Security Service takes Nizamaddin Mosque with human bones in its basement into custody

There are various opinions regarding the presence of human bones in the basement of the Nizameddin Mosque, a nationally significant architectural monument located in the Amirjan settlement of the Surakhani district, the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture told APA.

"After an inspection of the area with the participation of specialists, it will be possible to make an accurate statement regarding the issue, and the next steps will be determined," the statement said.

It was noted that restoration work was carried out a few years ago at the Nizameddin Mosque, which is a nationally significant architectural monument located in the Amirjan settlement of the Surakhani district: "The protection of the historical monument is monitored by the monument protectors of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture."
