Remains of Azerbaijani serviceman who went missing laid to rest in Gakh district-UPDATED

The remains of a serviceman who went missing during the First Karabakh War have been lad to rest in Qakh, APA’s north-west bureau reports.

The remains of Natig Zeynal Karimov a native of Onjallı village in the Qakh district, born in 1971, who went missing during the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family after 32 years.

After a farewell ceremony was held in his hometown, the remains of martyr Natig Karimov were taken to the Onjallı village cemetery, where he was born and raised, and buried next to the graves of his mother and father.

The burial ceremony was attended by representatives of the Qakh District Executive Authority, employees of local law enforcement agencies, military personnel, intellectuals of the district, residents of Onjallı village—where martyr N. Karimov was born and raised—and his relatives.

Note that the family in which martyr N. Karimov was born and raised had six children—four sons and two daughters. N. Karimov was the eldest in the family.

After finishing secondary school, N. Karimov learned the profession of driving. From 1989 to 1991, he served in the army in Moscow, the capital of the former USSR. After returning from military service, he worked as the chairman’s driver in the kolkhoz that included his native village of Onjallı. In the summer of 1992, he voluntarily joined the First Karabakh War. His last battles took place in April 1993 in the Qajag mountain area of the Fuzuli district, where he went missing.

The remains of serviceman Natiq Zeynal Karimov, who was considered missing during the First Karabakh War, were handed over to his family today in the Gakh district, APA’s local bureau reports.

A farewell ceremony for the martyr is currently being held.

The farewell ceremony is attended by district officials, public representatives, military personnel, local residents, and the martyr’s relatives.
