"In the modern era, serious changes are taking place in the system of international relations," Tahir Budagov, the Deputy Chairman of New Azerbaijan Party – Head of Central Administration, said at an event held by the party dedicated to the “Constitution and Sovereignty Year” on the topic of Victory of Insight, APA reports.
He stated that amid global catastrophes, during the period of emergence of new geopolitical realities - spreading of the process of transformation towards a multipolar world order, the protection of state interests is extremely important: “Under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan - which restored its territorial integrity achieving a brilliant victory in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, and in 2023, stepped into a qualitatively new stage of development restoring its full sovereignty as a result of a one-day anti-terrorist measures - is also facing such historically relevant challenges in this crucial period. The preservation of political stability and national unity, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development, and achieving permanent peace, reliable security, and multilateral cooperation in the region are of exceptional importance in this regard."
Tahir Budagov emphasized that today the main priority of Azerbaijan's foreign policy is to develop bilateral and multilateral relations within the Turkic world and to strengthen the Organization of Turkic States: “Currently, our country’s active initiatives not only serve the development of interstate relations in the Turkic world along an upward trajectory, but also create new perspectives. In the coming period, the realization of the Zangazur corridor and the development of the Middle Corridor will bring Turkic states together on a new multilateral cooperation platform, and also lead to the strengthening of integration in the Turkic world as a whole. All of this will create a real foundation for achieving long-term goals contributing to an increase in geopolitical activity in Eurasia, especially in the Turkic world, under the new world order.”
