Pandemic increased violence against women by 6.3% in Azerbaijan

In 2021, 5,593 crimes regarding women, including 2,197 violent crimes, were registered in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

It was reflected in the information of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan for 2021 which was put into the discussion at today's meeting of the Committee of Milli Majlis for Family, Women, and Children Affairs.

Noted that the increase in the number of crimes against women in most countries of the world due to the pandemic has been observed in our country as well. The number of such acts, including those related to violence, increased by 6.3% compared to 2020.
