Weather to grow sharply colder in Azerbaijan

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. On January 9, the weather will grow sharply colder in Baku and Absheron peninsula after the relatively mild winter weather continued several days, director of the weather forecast bureau of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Tagiyeva told APA.

Umayra Tagiyeva said that the temperature will fall 5-10 C on January 9-10 compared to last days. In the evening on January 9 and 10, it will rain occasionally, sleet and snow are expected. This process will be observed by intensifying north wind.

On January 9-10, the maximum speed of wind will reach 10-20, occasionally 25 meter per second (m/s). The temperature will be 0…2 C at night, 2…4 C in the daytime on January 9. On January 10, the temperature will be 1…-2 C at night and in the daytime.

It will rain in Azerbaijan’s region, sleet and snow are expected. The precipitations are forecasted to intensify in some regions. This process will start in the northern and western regions on January 8 and last till the morning January 11.

The roads are expected to freeze due to the temperature fall and frosty weather.
