Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. 8 children were adopted by foreign families in Azerbaijan, 2012, chief of the department of International Adoption of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Vasila Movsumova told APA. She said that 6 them were girls and 2 – boys. Six of them were adopted by Azerbaijanis living in Russia, one by the US citizen of Turkish origin and one by the European family, who accepted Islam.
The chief of the department noted that at present, there are many desires to adopt a child: “Their documents were examined by the committee. 12 families have no problem on documents. 12 families have been officially registered at the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs. The families from Russia, the European countries and the US prevailed among them.”
8 children were also adopted by foreign families in Azerbaijan, 2011.
