The forum was organized by the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations in partnership with the Youth and Sport Ministry, with the financial support of the Youth Foundation.
Deputy Youth and Sport Minister Intigam Babayev, chairman of the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations Shahin Seyidzadeh, executive director of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Farhad Hajiyev, director of the Center for Strategic Studies under President of Azerbaijan Farhad Mammadov, members of the Azerbaijani parliament and other guests attended the forum.
Addressing the forum chairman of the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations Shahin Seyidzadeh gave detailed information about the organization. He said within 17 years the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations put forward various initiatives.
“Today’s forum is one of these initiatives. Our main goal is to strengthen the activity of the youth and support the youth program. Participation of 100 young people in this forum demonstrates the efficiency of the project,” he said.
Deputy Youth and Sport Minister Intigam Babayev said the number of creative young people is increasing in Azerbaijan. He said the youth managed to establish network of creativity.
“Our major policy is the close participation of the youth in the projects. The State Program adopted due to the efforts of Azerbaijan’s President accelerated ensuring the interests of the youth. As a result of this, young people closely participate in the realization of the state policy. Serious measures should be continued to increase the youth creativity,” he said.
Chairman of the parliament’s committee on social policy Hadi Rajabli spoke about the activities carried out in the country to improve the social welfare of the youth, loan agreements are offered to young people on 4%, while this is 11% for others. Moreover, state program and several projects on youth are being implemented in the country and these are the results of attention and care of the state to young people.
Following this, the experts and youth discussed the State Program “Azerbaijan’s Youth in 2011-2015”. The young people made proposals on the State Program during the discussions. The discussions continued on the themes “State and Youth program”, “Mass media and Youth program” and “NGO and Youth program”.
Making a speech on “Mass media and Youth program”, President of APA Holding Vusala Mahirgizi mentioned that social media had been already formed in the country and main users of it were young people. According to the Holding president, like all spheres, the media also needs the creative activity of the youth. Mahirgizi called on the youth to actively engage in blogging: “The youth must create their own blogs and share their opinions independently. Besides it, various media outlets along with the Ministry of Youth and Sports must implement the projects on the youth’s activity and problems,” she said.
The proposals made at the event will be summarized and submitted for inclusion into the State Program in future.
