Population predicted to increase by 135 000 people in Azerbaijan this year

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “Population increased by 121.400 people and reached 9 003 565 people last year and it is as many as the residents of one district”, chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Hadi Rajabli said to APA. He said the statistics show that the growth rate of the population increased, and this may increase more: “Population is predicted to increase by 135 000 people in Azerbaijan in 2013.”

Noting the decreased death rates in the country in recent years, the chairman of the Committee said that an average lifetime is increasing year by year in Azerbaijan and it leads to the reduction in the number of deaths than births.

The State Statistics Committee said that the final total population number in the country has been 9 003 565 people. Population growth was 121.400 people compared to last year. This means an increase of 1.3% of the total population number.
