The amendment envisages tightening of sanctions for the rejection of alimony payment. Ali Huseynli said about 1/3 of the implementation of current judicial decisions covers delicate issues of the community such as protection of children's rights and alimony payment. He said there are serious problems in this sphere: “It is proposed to remove Article No.176 from the Criminal Code to ensure the implementation of judicial decisions on the alimony. This article of the Criminal Code envisages bringing to responsibility those who deliberately evade paying alimony. But 6 month-imprisonment is a low charge. From now on the article No.306 of the Criminal Code will be applied in the case of such kind of issues. Persons evading from the execution of the judgment will be sentenced to 3 years in jail.
