Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The implementation of “State program on informatization of educational system in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2008-2012” will be finished at the end of this year. Head of the Department for Education Informatization System of the Ministry of Education Samir Mammadov told APA that important activities were carried out in connection with the use of ICT in education. He said that as part of state programs, the education institutions were given 37 242 personal computers, 2743 laptops and 2679 projectors and supplied with about 300 institutions interactive whiteboards.
83 percent of 4522 secondary schools, 84 percent of 110 technical vocational schools and 56 public institutions were supplied with computer equipments. Currently, 20 students in public schools have one computer, and at state universities 28 students have one computer.
At present 1700 educational institutions have access to the Azerbaijani Education Network and Internet.
