The architectural monument, which area is 22300 square meter, consists of two strata.

Senior scientist of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, doctor of philosophy in history Doyush Musayev told APA’s northern bureau that the monument consisted of two strata. According to him, the first stratum covers approximately IX-XII centuries – the period till the arrival of Mongols in Azerbaijan.

The second stratum covers Kur-Araz Lowland, early Bronze Age - the 3rd millennium BC.

“As a result of the remains of construction found during the excavations, it was determined that the houses were constructed from air-bricks in 5-6 m diameter circular form in accordance with the period. The houses were plastered by weaving to the sticks. There are also tools made of stones, remains of pots and potteries and animal bones among the material and cultural samples.

The weapons found in dwelling places are one of the characteristic features of the culture of this period and show the bellicosity of tribes, who lived here. Two circular stone maces were found in hill. The vase and pot, which was found here, prove that the residents of this ancient place were engaged in agriculture and cattle-breeding”

Archeological researches will be continued.
