“People are already in panic due to absurd reports about "21 December", so, one shoud not release false reports to scare them more”

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva-APA. “ The reports that the strongest geomagnetic storm will occur on the Earth tonight are groundless. What is more surprising is that information agencies exgerrate these reports,” Elchin Babayev, deputy director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasiraddin Tusi, told APA.

He said it is quite calm in the space. “Information agencie refer to www.mignews.com, and they refer to www.likar.info . These websites refer to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Solar Dynamic Observatory of NASA indeed recorded two eruptions of protuberance on November 16. But the matter is that at this time, those plasma masses erupted into the interplanetary space, not towards the Earth. There is a very slight possibility that some part of it can come towards the Earth. Even if it came to the Earth, it could cause mild anxiety. I can say definitely that the geomagnetic storms are not expected.

Babayev said that it needs to seriously approach to the exaggeration of such issues in mass media: “People are already in panic due to absurd reports about “21 December”, so, one should not release false reports to scare them more”.
