# 25 January 2013 08:55 (UTC +04:00)

The agreement was signed by ANAMA Director Nazim Ismayilov and Head of IOM office in Azerbaijan Serhan Aktoprak, APA reports.

In his speech Nazim Ismayilov touched on the organization's activities in the country and abroad. Ismayilov said that ANAMA is dealing not only with demining activities but also mine awareness and providing assistance to mine victims.

Ismayilov noted that Azerbaijan participated in mine clearance operations in Turkey and organized training courses for the employees of the relevant organizations of foreign countries.

The agreement envisages cooperation in two directions. The first direction is a mine action that covers implementation of the destruction of collected ammunition, mine clearance, assistance to mine victims, rehabilitation and reintegration and measures of mine awareness. The second direction is the integration of mine action into broader development projects and programs (support for construction, provision of humanitarian assistance, post-conflict reconstruction etc.).
