The memory of those who perished in the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash in Aktau on December 25, 2024, was honored, APA reports.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan and the Akimat of Mangystau region, was attended by the Akim of Mangystau region Kilybai Nurdaulet, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoghlanov, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Aktau Aykhan Suleymanli, family members of the deceased Kazakhs, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, representatives of organizations that participated in the rescue operations, and residents of Aktau.

Akim of Mangystau region Kilybai Nurdaulet expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and said that, by order of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a Government Commission was established to eliminate the consequences of the accident, investigate its causes and provide assistance to the victims. Relevant bodies of Kazakhstan, including the Akimat of Mangystau region, took all necessary measures during the days of the tragedy. Kilybai Nurdaulet once again expressed his gratitude to the rescuers, medical workers and all Kazakhstanis who did not remain indifferent.
Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel stressed that today the relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have truly taken on the character of an alliance. He emphasized that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, located on the eastern and western shores of the Caspian Sea, are important players in the Turkic world, as well as key links in the Eurasian transport and logistics system.
