Journalists were informed about the complex.

It was reported that the city of Ganja, located 80 kilometers from the front line, was subjected to fire from the "Tochka-U", "Smerch", "SCUD" and other missile systems of the Armenian armed forces on October 4, 5, 8, 11 and 17 during the Patriotic War. As a result of these merciless attacks, 26 civilians, including 6 children, lost their lives, and 142 civilians were injured. The memorial was built on the site of one of those strikes - on the site of residential buildings - and covers an area of 4 hectares. The monument, distinguished by its original architectural solution, symbolizes the crater left by the rocket in the ground with its spiral shape. In the open square of the complex, the remains of the destroyed buildings have been preserved in the form of a special installation.

The total area of the crescent-shaped two-story building is 2,400 square meters. The first floor houses the museum exposition, and the second floor houses a multifunctional hall intended for holding seminars, trainings and various events.

The museum has halls dedicated to the themes of “Early 20th Century”, “Deportation and Internal Displacement”, “Genocide and Mass Murders”, “Ceasefire and Patriotic War Period”, “Missing Persons, Mass Graves, Mine Terror” and “Towards a Bright Future”.

The exposition first presents visitors with historical facts about the tragedies that occurred at the beginning of the 20th century, including the March Genocide of 1918. It also reflects the mass deportation of our compatriots from Western Azerbaijan in 1948–1953. In the interactive section, it is possible to get acquainted with archival materials, historical documents and examples of destroyed cultural heritage.

The following sections contain information about the crimes of ethnic cleansing, genocides and systematic massacres committed against the Azerbaijani people in 1987–1994. A separate section of the museum is dedicated to the facts of the deliberate targeting of the civilian population in modern times - during the ceasefire years, during the Patriotic War and in the subsequent stages.

The final section of the exhibition is dedicated to the resilience and determination of the Azerbaijani people, celebrating their perseverance and spirit of victory despite years of injustice.

Note that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the opening of the Ganja Memorial Complex on September 27, Remembrance Day.
