"Temporary sanitary norms and rules for energy drinks" will come into force in Azerbaijan from January 1, APA reports citing the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA).
The new regulations prepared by the Agency reflect the mandatory requirements for packaging, labeling, transportation, and storage of these products, as well as the raw materials and materials used in the production of these products to ensure the minimum product quality and safety of these products.
The goal is to ensure the safety of energy drinks for human life and health, as well as protection of consumer rights.
These rules are applied to energy drinks that have stimulant or anti-sedative effects on the central nervous system of the person.
The production and import of energy drinks will be regulated following relevant norms and regulations throughout the country from January 1, 2020. Imports and production of products which do not meet the requirements will be forbidden.
Note that, the new rules are not applied to natural tea, coffee, as well as soft drinks made from natural tea and coffee extracts, as well as sports drinks.
