Tajik citizen Emomov Taqaymurod, accused of smuggling several hundred kilograms of heroin into the territory of the Russian Federation, has been detained in Azerbaijan, Russia’s law enforcement agencies told TASS, APA reports.
It was stated that Emomov Taqaymurod had been wanted for over 11 years on charges of illegal trafficking of narcotic substances in especially large quantities.
According to the prosecution, the accused is believed to be involved in organizing particularly dangerous crimes in the field of illegal drug trafficking.
It was noted that his extradition to the Russian Federation is currently expected.
