“A condition should be created for conducting monitoring in fields in the entire Karabakh region,” Avaz Mammadov, Head of the Department of Seismology and Earth's Physics, Faculty of Geology, Baku State University Avaz Mammadov told APA’s correspondent assigned to Shusha.

Geologist-scientist brought to attention the issues that they demand: “Our advance request was that a condition be created to conduct monitoring in copper-molybdenum and gold mine. However, ecologists were not allowed there. Then we changed our slogan: A condition should be created to conduct monitoring in the fields in the entire Karabakh zone. In general, I want to say that I have no confidence in these Russian peacekeepers. I don't know if it is possible to remove them from here or not, but it is certain that our state structures should be in this corridor as well."

Avaz Mammadov also spoke about the damage inflicted on nature caused by the operations in the area.

"During gold processing, toxic minerals are used, all of which are very dangerous for ecology and human life. After processing, raw materials are sent to Armenia through the corridor. As a result, our territory and nature are poisoned, but they earn money."
