Joint training of the CIS countries' emergency response agencies

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan participated in the joint training of the CIS countries, APA reports citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, with the aim of implementing the decision adopted at the 36th meeting of the Interstate Council for Emergencies of Natural and Technogenic Character of CIS from May 19 to 23, a joint training of the CIS countries' agencies responsible for eliminating the consequences of natural and technogenic emergencies was held at the training ground of the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Ministry of Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters(EMERCOM of Russia).

Elimination of the consequences of an earthquake accompanied by large-scale destruction

In the joint training on the topic "Elimination of the Consequences of an Earthquake Accompanied by Large-Scale Destruction," the Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by the International Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The training involved 30 personnel and 5 pieces of equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.

During the training, tasks on involving the rapid deployment of forces and means to the emergency area, setting up a tent camp for the accommodation of units, opening a coordination center and organizing cooperation, conducting reconnaissance activities in the area to ensure safety during search and rescue operations in designated work areas, reinforcing buildings at risk of collapse, and carrying out search and rescue operations at heights and under debris were successfully carried out with the involvement of the MES International Search and Rescue Team's forces and means. Additionally, during the training, the assessment of the situation in the area was carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles, modern management and communication tools were applied, and issues related to the protection of the personnel’s life and health were also prioritized.

Implementation of border crossing and customs procedures

At the same time, simplified border crossing and customs procedures were one of the main directions of activity during the training.

Familiarization with the material and technical base

Within the framework of the training, participants also familiarized themselves with the capabilities, areas of activity, and material-technical base of the Noginsk Rescue Center. Furthermore, seminars were organized on topics such as “Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for the Implementation of Tasks on Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations,” “Organization of Psychological Support during Search and Rescue Operations,” “Organization of Communication during Emergency Response Operations,” “Implementation of Diving Operations,” and “Organization of the Activities of Canine Units.”

Awarding of employees who excelled during the training

At the end, an analysis of the activities during the training was conducted, and employees who particularly distinguished themselves in the training were awarded by the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
