Disability benefits will be granted if the disability occurs due to reasons related to a terrorism act, this is reflected in the amendment to the Presidential Decree No. 973 dated August 29, 2013, titled "On increasing the amount of social benefits," signed by President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
Previously, disability benefits were granted if the disability resulted from the following causes: "general illness," "illness during military service," "work injury and occupational disease," "being in a military operations zone," and "liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant."
The amounts of the benefits are as follows:
- For individuals with a disability determined by an 81-100% impairment of bodily functions — 270 AZN (two hundred seventy manats);
- For individuals with a disability determined by a 61-80% impairment of bodily functions — 220 AZN (two hundred twenty manats);
- For individuals with a disability determined by a 31-60% impairment of bodily functions — 150 AZN (one hundred fifty manats).
