Construction of landfills for solid waste management have been launched in 8 liberated districts, said Faig Mutallimov, head of the Environmental Policy Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (ETSN), in his statement to journalists, APA reports.
"Landfills for solid waste management have been organized and designed in 8 liberated districts, and their construction has already been launched. At the same time, waste cleaning has been carried out in the territories of Khankandi. Special containers have been installed for both organic waste and waste to be recycled."
He also noted that a regional strategy related to waste management has been developed for the liberated territories and is currently in the renewal phase.
"Amendments to the legislation related to waste management are also planned," Faiq Mutallimovadded.
