In line with President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, the Great Return to the liberated territories continues, APA reports.
In the latest stage, 15 families (59 people) have been resettled in Shushakend village of Khojaly district, while 10 families (39 people) have returned to Gyrmyzybazar village of Khojavand district.
The returnees are families who had been temporarily settled in various parts of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.
Former internally displaced person (IDP) Ilyas Guliyev, who returned to Gyrmyzybazar expressed his boundless joy:
“We are going back to our land, our village, our ancestral home. We may have 10–15 years left, and we want to live them in peace. We have certain plans — we will work in our gardens and fields.”
Another returnee to Gyrmyzybazar, Nazanin Huseynova, said she left her native land 32 years ago and is now returning with great enthusiasm:
“For years we lived in a dormitory, but thank God, today we are going back to our own home and village. I was 40 years old when I left the village, now I am 72. Thanks be to God, we are returning with joy.”
