A training session was held jointly by the Ministry of Justice and the Secretariat of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), APA reports.
According to the Ministry, the training was organized to explain practical issues related to the application of the 1965 Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, which Azerbaijan joined in 2023, and the 2007 Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance, which Azerbaijan acceded to in 2024.
The training was attended by judges, lawyers, notaries, enforcement officers, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, which performs the function of the central authority for the aforementioned conventions.
A delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan also attended the training, conducted by professional experts of the HCCH, as listeners.
Within the framework of the program, participants not only acquired theoretical knowledge on the application of international conventions, but also participated in practical training.
During the three-day training, they were introduced to the activities of the HCCH, the Work Program, and discussed the issues of enforcement and recognition of decisions on the withholding of alimony in the requested states. They also discussed the application of IT in this area, made a presentation on the submission of court documents, and solved practical cases in the indicated areas.
After the training, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice with a delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the implementation of the Convention and bilateral cooperation.
