Azerbaijan detects illegal tree-cutting cases causing 381,000 AZN in damage

Illegal tree-cutting cases have been detected in Baku, Sumgait, and the Absheron, Salyan, and Goychay districts during monitoring conducted by the State Environmental Security Service (SESS) over the past 10 days, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.

The investigation revealed that illegal tree-cutting caused 381,000 AZN worth of damage to nature.

As the amount of damage constitutes a criminal offense, the collected materials are being prepared for submission to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
