Novruz is an ancient folk holiday symbolizing the arrival of spring, and its meaning is "New Day."
Novruz is celebrated on the day of the astronomical beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, during the equinox (March 20th, 21st, or 22nd).
Several nations have associated the arrival of spring with the revival of nature, celebrating it with festivities and marking it as the beginning of the new year.
Since ancient times, alongside the peoples of Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and some other Eastern nations, Azerbaijani Turks have also welcomed the arrival of spring — the new year — with celebrations.
On September 30, 2009, Novruz was included in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and on February 23, 2010, the UN declared March 21 as "International Novruz Day."

In connection with Novruz and Ramadan holidays, March 20th through 31st (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31) will be non-working days.
