The "Rules for assessing a person as a highly qualified migrant" and the corresponding "Assessment criteria" have been officially approved, APA reports, citing Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Applications from foreign nationals will be received and processed through a newly created online platform — the “Highly qualified migrant” portal, which will operate based on the "one-stop-shop" principle. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the State Migration Service through the "Highly qualified migrants" subsystem, integrated into its unified migration information system. The evaluation aims to assess the applicant’s knowledge and skills in their claimed field of expertise, aligning with Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development priorities. The goal is to broaden opportunities for involving highly qualified foreign professionals in paid employment in the country.
