On September 1, a delegation led by Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and of the Judicial-Legal Council, visited the Republic of Türkiye to participate in the “Opening Ceremony of the New Judicial Year 2025–2026,” the Supreme Court told APA.

The delegation first visited the park in Ankara named after National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at his monument.

At the official ceremony, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ömer Kerkez, Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, as well as numerous judges and prosecutors, were in attendance.

In his opening speech, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized the special role of the judiciary and prosecution bodies in ensuring justice and congratulated the participants on the occasion of the start of the new judicial year. He also greeted Chief Justice Inam Karimov and Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, noting that the brotherly relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan are built on strong foundations and continue to develop steadily.

Later, Cevdet Yılmaz received the heads of delegations, noting that the achievements gained between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in all areas, particularly in the judicial and legal sphere, are of a lasting nature. He emphasized that, thanks to the joint political will of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, bilateral relations have been elevated to the highest level — that of an alliance.

During the visit, Inam Karimov also held a number of bilateral meetings and discussed steps taken to further strengthen cooperation between the judicial systems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
