The voluntary blood donation campaign held in Azerbaijan in connection with Ashura is continuing, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Health.
Preliminary figures as of 10:00 show that 501 voluntary donors have donated blood. As a result, a total of 225.45 liters of blood has been collected.
It was noted that this year's blood donation campaign is being held at 40 collection points in 30 cities and districts across the country. Of these, 24 collection points are located at mosques and shrines, 15 at medical institutions, and one at an educational institution.
The campaign, which began at 08:00, will continue throughout the day.

A blood donation campaign has begun at Tazapir Mosque on the occasion of Ashura Day, APA reports.
Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, as well as representatives of various religious communities operating in the country, will also participate in the blood donation campaign.
Note that the blood donation campaign is being held at the initiative of the Caucasus Muslims Office and jointly organized with the Ministry of Health.
The blood collected during the campaign will be used in the treatment of people suffering from hemophilia, thalassemia, as well as other diseases.
