The Food Safety Agency has conducted investigations to determine the causes of the incident that occurred in a household setting in Astara district, AFSA told APA.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the information that the incident occurred due to watermelon poisoning is not true.
Thus, it was revealed that the residents of Astara district ate food prepared at home the day before at a small wedding ceremony held in the courtyard of Heydarli Samir Firdovsi oglu in Motlayatag village of Astara district on 03.09.2025.
Samples of home-cooked food offered for consumption in the assembly were taken and subjected to laboratory analysis. The agency once again states the importance of observing storage conditions, temperature regime, hygiene and proper transportation rules when offering food prepared at home for consumption: "At the same time, in order to avoid confusion and anxiety among consumers, only the specified information provided by official bodies should be referred to."
