20 mine detection dogs donated to Azerbaijan from foreign countries last year

In the past year, 8 mine detection dogs from the Civil Protection Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia and 12 mine detection dogs from the Marshall Legacy Institute were donated to the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), this was reflected in the Cabinet of Ministers' report for 2024, APA reports.

In 2024, the supply of 17 locally produced mechanical demining machines to the Agency was completed. Additionally, under previous and 2024 contracts, 65 various brand vehicles were purchased and put into operation by the Agency.

Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the Agency and the Marshall Legacy Institute of the United States, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Civil Protection Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia.

Within the framework of these memorandums, financial support was provided through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center with $3 million from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and $5 million from the Government of the United Arab Emirates through its Embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
