There have been 105 court appeals related to violations of housing requirements concerning former internally displaced persons, State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons said in response to APA's inquiry.

It was noted that the Departmetnt of Housing and Utility Services located in the settlements regularly monitor the apartments temporarily occupied by internally displaced persons who have been provided with new housing based on the rental agreement signed between the relevant structural unit of the State Committee and the internally displaced person: “When a violation of the requirements of the existing legislation is detected concerning internally displaced persons who have been provided with new living space, the agreement signed with them is terminated by court decision. In the elapsed period of 2025, 105 appeals have been submitted to the court on this issue. Of these, 38 have been ruled in favor of the State Committee, 42 are under review, 7 have been rejected, and 18 have been left unconsidered. Note that when determining the internally displaced family to be granted a vacated apartment, preference is given to families of martyrs and war participants among the internally displaced persons.”
