State Medical Facilities are provided with 166 kinds of Free Medicines in Azerbaijan

Previously, this figure was 60 and then it went up to 120, but today is equal to 166. With the growing economic power of the state, the amount of these drugs may increaseâ€, Deputy Health Minister Elsavar Aghayev told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, people of privileged category, based on the prescription, can buy their medicines from the special drug checkpoint established by the Health Ministry: â€œLack of medicines doesnâ€™t mean that the ill people canâ€™t be supplied sufficiently with medicines. Some medicines produced by several companies could be same just in name. At present, there are enough medicines for the treatment of people in the country.â€

The Deputy Minister also said that people with multiple sclerosis, will be provided with free medicines from the next year: â€œThe medicines, especially from interferon group, are very expensive. One course of treatment with these drugs costs a lot of money. The state will pay sums. According to the instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers, now the Ministry of Health has prepared a program in this regard.â€
