Azerbaijani Copyright Agency announces statistics of plagiary works revealed in 2003-2012

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. The Azerbaijani Copyright Agency announced statistics of plagiary works, which were revealed in 2003-2012 by the Agency. Head of the CA Department of Law Khudayat Hasanli told APA that it was revealed within the reporting year that 30 publications were plagiary. 6 of them were scientific works, 5 – literary works, 2 – dictionaries, 1- encyclopedia and one fact on press. The rests were higher and secondary school textbooks, school supplies and methodic supplies. Totally, 95% of plagiary textbooks are higher school supplies.

Hasanli said that the latest plagiary fact, which was revealed by the agency, was higher school textbook. The author of book is a doctor of cultural sciences and is a chair of department at the one university: “This person wrote two textbooks. One of them is about cultural studies, the other is about culture. The both books were prepared for the universities. But these books are reiteration of the book of other Azerbaijani author on cultural studies. Even the sentences and indentions were repeated. This issue is being investigated at present.”
